Freddy was dead, but his story wasn’t. Wes Craven came back and gave us one of the best horror films of the 90s, New Nightmare. Make no mistake about it, Scream doesn’t exist without this film. This movie tried some very new ideas and most of them worked well. This was the send-off that Freddy deserved. Freddy was no jokester this time around. He was the thing that nightmares are made of….in the best way possible. We had Heather Langenkamp, Robert Englund, Robert Shaye, John Saxon, and Wes Craven playing themselves this time around. Jsu Garcia (Rod Lane) and Tuesday Knight (the second Kristen) both make small appearances. Then there was the great Lin Shaye. This movie is stacked in all the right ways.
