You ever watch a movie that you really like, but mentally check out and by the end, you are totally invested and wish you had focused the whole time? Yeah, that happened to me. It’s kinda like that boy or girl in your life that you didn’t fully pay enough attention to and then you suddenly get to know them, but by that point, it’s too late, and you missed that OPPORTUNITY, and you kick yourself for being more dismissive than you should have been. And you wish you could go back and redo things and appreciate that person the whole duration, but you realize it’s too late and you fucked up. Yeah, that’s how I felt with this movie. It’s such a great, fun loving movie. It has enough laughs to keep you coming back and smiling. It has that dirty side with some nudity that may or may not turn you on. It’s got that dark side that scares you yet intrigues you. But it’s not the easiest thing in the world to fully commit to, and then like I said, you realize you missed out. Unlike life though, this is a movie on DVD, but the life like metaphor is there. Ain’t that right?
To give the briefest of brief synopsis, because who am I to tell you how to run your life? So 2 American dudes go backpacking through Britain. They are cold and hungry so they end up at this tavern called The Slaughtered Lamb. It’s a sweet pub where hardly anybody is friendly and they kinda get kicked out of there, with the advice to stick to the roads. Well sure enough, they get attacked by a werewolf. One dude dies, the other one survives. He ends up in a hospital, and his nurse ends up wanting him, so he moves in with her, and they boink. He gets haunted or harassed by his dead buddy. Long story short, David, the one alive is a werewolf, and he needs to kill himself because anybody he kills ends up in like a death limbo and the only way to break the curse is for him to commit suicide. Of course pressure mounts as he kills while being a werewolf and more people are pissed with him. There’s some fun lighthearted moments. The soundtrack is great with both “Blue Moon” and “Bad Moon Rising” there.
Maybe I am just not in the right mindset to review this properly. I dunno. I love this movie. I don’t know how much it loved me though. There are days when you start your day off with this movie with a nice smile and you are totally into it. Other days, it frustrates the fuck out of you, or you have to walk away from it. but you keep trying to come back to it. I hate life. Rating 7.2
