Happy 9 Deuce 2017!

Hi everybody.  I have been staring at my PC screen for most of the past 16 hours.  I am fatigued to say the least.  As a lot of you know, I have been working diligently on a variety of things to do with my website, 9deuce.com.  While I didn’t get everything done, I will let you know what has been done, what will be getting fixed over the next month, and some cool announcements.

Fudge it, let’s do announcements first before people stop reading.  The first announcement is that this weekend, the public will get to see the newest blog feature to the site.  It’s called “Tales From the Plunderbund Consortium”.  I have zero input on this.  It’s a blog put together entirely by my buddy Eric.  Now, unfortunately, I wasn’t prepared to launch it for quite some time now.  I have excuses, some more legit than others, but I’m waiting on some final touches to the logo.  Aside from that, we’re all good to go.  If you like role playing games, or even if you like Lord of the Rings type stuff, I think that you will be in for a treat.  Hell, I’m not too crazy about a lot of that stuff, but this is actually really well done.  So that will be up soon.

The second announcement is that I will be adding a second weekly podcast to my rotation.  For the time being, it’s all under the Are You Not Kentertained umbrella.  As some of you know, my buddy Chris and I have been doing a podcast every week on Game of Thrones.  We both really enjoyed it and have been discussing ways to keep going.  So for the foreseeable future, Chris and I will be doing a weekly Top 10 type show.  We have a lot of horror topics, but we will also branch off on various other things, I’m sure.  I imagine video games, other films, TV shows, really, we can discuss anything, and that is precisely what we will be doing.

The third, and final announcement is in relation to my 9 Deuce Horror Group on Facebook.  We do 2 blogs a month, and usually the films are voted on.  We try to be democratic.  Anyway, for the month of October, I will once again be walking into Hell and doing 100 horror films.  To incorporate the group and any well wishers, there will be a daily horror blog.  The list of those films and questions will be out by the end of next week….I hope.  On top of that, every day, we will be doing a poll in the horror group, and the following day, the results of the poll will be announced in the daily blog.  It should be a good time.

As for updates to the site.  Honestly, I am trying to find ways to direct more traffic to my actual website and then to the blogs.  That’s always been a long term goal.  I have taken some optimistic steps towards that goal.  Today, you can go on your PC or mobile device and check it out for yourself.  It’s a lot simpler and more streamlined for a better user experience.  Yes, you can actually navigate the site on your phone.  That has been a HUGE hassle for me, trying to learn what to do and iron things out.  Please remember, I never took any classes in any web design, so I am just learning as I go.  The Wrestling and Film Review sections are pretty good at the moment.  The Podcast and Television aspects of the site will be getting my attention over the next few nights.  They should be a simple fix.  The majority of my views are wrestling and film based, so they got the prioritized attention.  PLEASE, if you find something isn’t working right, let me know.  It’s probably something on my end.

The other big thing that is a much bigger project is moving all of my older blogs from Blogger over to Word Press.  I intended on having that done, but it is beyond time consuming.  So I apologize for any inconveniences, but by the end of the month, I should have all of the film related blogs moved over, at the very least.  I am not looking forward to that.  The gallery will also get an overhaul I suspect.  I’m still not sure.  I really have no idea if anybody even looks at it.  If you ever look at the gallery, let me know, please.  I’d hate to waste time on something that nobody is looking at, or perhaps my presentation is awful.

I need to get a few more tiny things done and then I shall rest.  Please, take a few seconds out of your day to send me a picture of you giving me the 9 Deuce hand sign.  This weekend, you should see the season finale Game of Thrones blog along with the companion podcast.  For horror fans, we have Tales From the Hood coming out today, and tomorrow we should have Housebound and Honeymoon.  Yesterday we hit up the wrestling blogs.  And of course we have the Tales From the Plunderbund Consortium.

Finally, I just want to say thank you to everybody who either participates in the blogs, the podcasts, the Facebook groups, or just lurk around without ever saying anything to me.  I gotta give very big props to Russell and Keri because they do the blogs and podcasts damn near every week, and I know that they have much better things to be doing.  Without them, I wouldn’t even have much of a wrestling branch of 9 Deuce.  Also props to Steve for doing the long winded post PPV podcasts with me.  Then there’s my horror group that was started in the summer thanks to Kristi’s input.  With her, Chris, Teddy, Cece, Dom, Sara and some occasional contributors, that blog has been a huge success for me.  There’s all of my TV show people.  Without naming people redundantly, for Game of Thrones I have Chris, Jim, Kristi, Raylene, and Briana.  For The Walking Dead, I had Bitty, Bob, Briana, Eric, Cece, Teddy, Jessica, Chris, Kristi, and probably others that I am forgetting.  I have my harem of AHS ladies with Melanie, Kelly, Stefanie, Cece, and every once in awhile Tom or Kayleigh.  There’s the Orange is the New Black with Jamie, Kristi, Cece, Melanie, and Kelly.  The Santa Clarita Diet girls including Bri, Kristi, Cece, and Melanie.  The Stranger Things crew with Jennifer, Sandra, Thomas, Bri, Raylene, and Jim.  Thank you to Eric for proving me with connections to a large portion of the talented people that help, plus the Plunderbund blog.  Thank you to Sara for getting her 10 year old son, Thomas, to not only do some horror blogs, but also have him do a podcast with Russ and I.  A huge thank you to Jay because he’s really the reason why this is even a thing.  Without him giving me pep talks and guiding me through this mess, none of this happens, so major props to him.  I am positive that I am leaving out some people, but in my defense, we all know that my memory is awful.  So please yell at me in a comment if you want.

Hopefully there will be a blog on Wentworth this month, and Stranger Things returns in late October.  I still owe people some blogs and favors.  Yeah, I am aware of some of those at the very least that I have inadvertently put off.

Now, I will shut up and enjoy the day.  Find yourself a copy of Dr. Dre’s “Dre Day” and listen to the end so you can hear him say 9 Deuce.  You’ll feel great.
