This is on NetFlix, it piqued my interest, and I like clowns. Soooo there.
1995
We hear somebody screaming that they did what “they” wanted, and it was a kid in the bathroom, and then he gets shot in the dome. OK, cool.
The Family
A guy found a video camera on the doorsteps, and he is videotaping his family, his wife in panties, and 2 girls. The camera was in a red box, and it says congratulations. He (Tom) thinks they won it because the wife (Emmy) entered a contest at the mall.
The Woman
Some chick has also gotten a red box with a free camera. I think her name is Beth.
Lots of getting to know the family stuff in Tom’s house. Beth gets a phone call from her mom. Beth also filled out for a contest or credit card. It says “Keep filming, you’re a star”. The kids kept picked up and Tom is feeling frisky. Beth is finding that the camera won’t turn off, and fears that she broke it. Tom is also finding the same issue.
The Clown
Well, now I am pumped. Some scruffy looking dude finds a camera. He has a Melvins shirt, and he has been entered in a contest, one night, one prize of $10,000. This dude’s name is Leonard, and he lives at home with his obnoxious mom. He has a sweet ghost decoration. His mom asks him if he’s retarded. Then gets clippers out and shaves off his facial hair.
Let’s Play a Game
Beth hears a door open and checks it. The doorbell goes off at Tom’s. He finds a teddy bear, and cards with clowns on it, it says “Tom and Emmy, keep filming”, and gives an address at something Mockingbird, and there is a Polaroid of them at the mall. Beth looks at her package. Hers has some photos taken on campus I guess. Her mom wants her to call the cops, and then she loses the call. The phone line is down at Tom’s as well. Leonard gets a new box, and it has a clown outfit and makeup and he is pumped. His head is shaved too. Mom is passed out I think.

Action
Tom and Emmy just got a videotape as did Beth. It’s like the beginning scene. That is the house where Beth is staying at the guest house. It says to keep filming, not to call the cops, they are watching, and Tom and Emmy see inside their place while they are sleeping. Emmy wants to call the cops. Beth has some crazy person knocking at the door, I assume one is possibly Leonard. They want Emmy to hold the camera and show Tom’s face, and Beth to do the same. Tom can’t find his keys. People are knocking at their door.
Leonard is pumped. His letter says to go to the women’s bathroom at a hotel. Hahaha, he doesn’t want to bring the mystery. He assumes they go there to gossip and do cocaine. Another letter in the bathroom. He makes a spectacle of himself in there and scares off the women.
Guess who?
Well, Beth is hiding in the shower. Her power goes off. Did I mention that there is a thunderstorm, so we get glimpses of light via lightning? She goes outside, sees lots of balloons and great music playing, and her car doors were open. She goes to start her car and a dude is standing next to her, but she doesn’t see him. Then a female mannequin or blow-up doll drop from the garage via a noose. Tom gets his gun, wants to get her across the street and call the cops. He wants her to put the camera down, and as soon as he forced her to put it down, the lights went off, there is knocking at the door and the phone rings. Leonard goes to like a convenience store. He has to have a dude kick him in the nuts. Ouch. The guy says that he didn’t get the shot. Hahaha, so they gotta film it twice. He gets another card.
Now You See Me
There’s a weird message or story being told at Tom’s. He realizes that the camera has a transmitter. This reminds me of 13 Sins, minus the good storyline. Beth is saying that she is sorry and asking for them to leave her alone. She offers her jewelry. There was a hand with a knife in a cupboard, because that makes sense.
Leonard gets a Polaroid camera. He ends up at a roller rink and wants to get pictures with kids. Not creepy at all. Leonard is the saving grace of this so far.
Tom and Emmy are starting to irritate me too. Just go across the street, you cowards. I say you take your chances. There was some glass breaking, Tom checks it out while Emmy stays in the kitchen. We see shadows. Well, they killed the cat and drew a frowny face on the window. We get replays of what Beth’s mom said to her on the phone playing somewhere in the house. She

Tom sees the stuff with kids getting killed and you know what, I’m done writing. I’ll recap after.

Surprise
……you know what, I’m done. I’m done with this sophomoric bullshit. The same asshole that made this also made The Strangers and butchered a pretty damn fine movie in ILS, and gave us The Strangers. Had I remotely researched, I would have known to avoid this. SO yeah, all of this leads to everybody meeting at the big house that is next to Beth’s place. Tom and Emmy have a standoff with Beth, Beth won’t lower her gun. leonard comes in, Beth shoots him. Everybody is dead…… How the fuck is that plausible you ask? SO we are led to believe that Tom shoots Leonard, Beth shoots Tom, Tom shoots Beth, Beth shoots Emmy and all are fatal gunshots. 2 of the fatal guns shots delivered after receiving their own fatal gunshot. Go fuck yourself, San Diego. And to top it off, it was kids behind this all along, including the kid who got shot in the beginning. This…..just fuck this garbage. It was boring, tedious, a waste of my time, and my brainpower to write this. None of the leads had a modicum of common sense. It was 1995. How did these kids have such advanced technology and access to it to pull off this stuff? They were able to see things as they happened supposedly. NOPE.
