I was eating some pizza and I came across this film and thought that this had to be watched. As a lot of you know, I am a pizza fanatic, naturally, I was curious about a horror flick about pizza. This is an Indian film, so hello subtitles.
The beginning was a little bit of a cool horror scene, but then they rolled the credits. We meet Kunal and Nikita (Nikki) and they are married. Kunal is a pizza boy for a place called “Slices”. Nikki is an aspiring writer/novelist who loves horror and supernatural, and Kunal doesn’t like or believe in that stuff. Kunal’s boss’ wife, Priya is pregnant and apparently possessed. This is some scary shit. Then Nikki finds out that she is pregnant, and she wants Kunal to step it up as a man.
One night, the boss tells Kunal to deliver this package of chocolates to Priya while he’s out on a delivery. This ends up being a delivery from Hell. There are ghosts, rotting pizza, crazy shit on the walls, and a creepy little girl, Anjali. I won’t give away much more than that, but what happens in the house is well done, very creepy, and leads us to some craziness for the final act.
I thought the scenes were nicely shot, and although not terribly frightening, I think a child could handle the scares, the visuals looked really nice. The acting…….eh the acting. The acting was not the strong suit of this particular film. Some did better than others. I thought Parvathy Omanakuttan, who played Nikki, did a really good job. Kunal was okay. The other guys mostly seemed over the top in their presentation.
I have learned that this was a remake from a 2012 film by the same name. We think it’s bad in America if a film doesn’t wait at least 20 years for a remake. This happened in 2 years time. I guess the original is much better, but I can’t find it yet. I will look for it.
Rating: 5.5 I really like the last 15-20 minutes. I really liked all the time Kunal spent in the house. There were times when it kind of dragged on here and there, and it all worked out, but for a first-time experience, it could lose some people. I would recommend sticking it out. The ending will make it worth your time, in my opinion.

Finally, I am doing a GoFundMe to help pay for the costs to keep 9deuce.com up and running. I don’t make any money off of the site. I do it because I love it, but it is expensive at times, and I had to recently renew for 3 years. So I am asking any of my readers to consider donating if they have the extra funds. If you don’t, I get it. It would mean a lot to me.
