- A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 – Honestly, this is perfection. Part 4 is also amazing and criminally underrated, but this is the pinnacle for me. It has long been a go-to film when bored. The kills are incredibly creative. The acting is
campy, but fun. Freddy at his finest. - Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers – Speaking of campy, this movie takes place at a camp and is one big homage to the 80’s slasher films that came before it. Pamela Springsteen is incredible in her role.
- Halloween II – When it comes to perfect horror movie sequels, you can’t do much better than this one, although the timeline is incredibly messed up nowadays. Back then, this was a great idea to just continue the night from where the original left off.
- The Burning – I love Friday the 13th films, but this has some extra charm to it. If you are a fan of the Friday the 13th films from a story and pacing standpoint, this will feel all too familiar to you. Also, Jason Alexander (George from Seinfeld) is in this.
- Child’s Play – I don’t know if this movie has aged well, but when it came out, it was a very big deal. I still have fond memories of it. I don’t know if I have it ranked too high or too low, but I wanted it on my list.
Honorable Mentions – Nightmare 1 & 4, Friday the 13th 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, Chopping Mall, The House on Sorority Row, April Fool’s Day, Sleepaway Camp 1 & 3, Slumber Party Massacre 1-3 (especially 3), Sorority House Massacre, Cheerleader Massacre
