This week, the M.C. rescues Alvarez from the Mercs, Emily gets yelled at and ropes EZ into a mission which results in a dead Marlon. My name is Kent and I write the questions every week and I have a great group of people who answer them. If you are familiar with some of the other TV Show blogs that we do on the site, then you will recognize most of the names. If you would like to participate in the blog and answer my inane questions, please contact me at kent@9deuce.com. Please enjoy!
1. Alvarez got tortured but the MC rescued him and he got to bash Hobart’s skull in. Was this the happiest moment for you during this episode? Also, Nestor finally got to do some things and got props from Alvarez. Does this mean that Nestor is officially back in the good graces of Galindo?
Kristi: Yes, I think so. He redeemed himself. (I think that he did redeem himself and that he is trending positively now. One small mistake though could send him back down quickly though, I fear.)
Raylene: Nope, my happiest moment was Emily getting put in her dumbass place. Yes, I felt good when he bashed his head in. I still think Nestor has to do more to get on the good side. (Soooo, someone’s in a hurry to back Emily. She was coming up in the next question. I’m not sure what else Nestor can do other than take a bullet for Miguel.)
Kent: I originally had the name as Bohart, hahaha. I’m an idiot. Yes, this was a happy moment for me because I’ve long enjoyed Alvarez. It is a shame that I didn’t do these blogs back in the SOA days. I feel that Nestor should be on a longer leash at the very least. He just risked a ton on his own. And his shirt was fantastic. That needed to be mentioned.
2. Emily found out that Marlon gave the Chinese info to help outbid Galindo. She tried to get help from Miguel, but it was a bad time. She then reached out to EZ. Should Emily have just waited until Miguel got home to discuss the situation? Should she have reached out to EZ?
Kristi: She always makes the wrong choice, so yes, she was wrong. Shouldn’t have gotten EZ in her family business. Galindo would have taken care of it. (That’s how I see it. An ounce of patience and Miguel would have handled that. Instead, it’s like she likes knowing that she can just call on EZ, and it’s not fair.)
Raylene: She will always dangle that sweet candy to string Ez along. She knows exactly what she’s doing in that regards I wish Dita would take care of her. (“that sweet candy” has gone sour a long time ago. EZ just happens to like sour candy, Yes, we would all like Dita to take care of business while listening to a Mexican version of “Hip To Be Square”. )
Kent: Emily has zero regards for EZ’s life or well being and it pisses me off. He can easily say no and I feel like everybody would back him. She knows that she isn’t supposed to be interacting with the MC like this. I know that they would probably have Miguel headhunt EZ, but in reality, most reasonable guys would tell her to stop interfering in business that she shouldn’t be involved with and stop putting undue pressure on his men.
3. EZ confronted Marlon. This resulted in an accidental death on Marlon because idiots shouldn’t have guns. How badly does this fuck everything up? What are the potential ramifications?
Kristi: I’m thinking they will find the info on his laptop and phone about his fuck up. When they find that, I’m guessing they will think he was fearful for his life so he killed himself. Galindo will get the bid and everyone will live happily ever after. Everyone but Marlon anyway. (Hahaha, this does seem like one of those things that seems big one week but is swept under the rug the following week. I had a whole elaborate answer, but no, this seems accurate.)
Raylene: I think as long as Ez leaves things alone it’ll look like a suicide and if he’s careful to not be noticed leaving the scene perhaps push the bike away before starting it. (But did he leave any fingerprints? That is the most EZ thing to do as evidenced in season 1. Potter would have a field day with this one.)
Kent: I really did have a very elaborate explanation that was going to cause friction with Miguel, Emily, EZ, and then the MC. But no, this is a Kurt Sutter show. It will blow over with not many fucks given.
4. Happy got the info that EZ and Angel requested, and there appear to be 2 possibilities. Do you think that it was the Galindos or the other group that hired Happy?
Kristi: I think it was the Galindo’s. When they find out they will go after him and that’s how they find out he is their brother. (That’s the crux of the whole show. The big reveal that is actually really good and exciting. How quickly do they want to blow that load is the biggest question.)
Raylene: I think it was Galindo because he found out about the affair. (Would it have been Miguel or his father or other family members? I don’t know the timeline.”)
Kent: If they make it the Galindo’s, then you have the easy story about brothers and how Miguel will handle this. Will he hate them or embrace them? But, let’s never forget that SOA’s third season was in Ireland and was so stupid. I’m not going to put it past them to swerve us and make it the other group and start up a war with them and hold out on the family ties until later. As a matter of fact, that is my prediction and I hope that I am wrong. But dragging this out makes a lot of sense to me.
5. Potter is having a bad time, even though he had a box of Good N Plenty. He wants info on Felipe/Ignacio. What do you think this may be leading up to?
Kristi: I’m not sure about this one. He definitely has something up his sleeve. (I think it is something that we aren’t expecting, which I am very good with.)
Raylene: Something more to blackmail EZ and Angel with. (I’m wondering what he hopes to get from them at this point. You could see where Angel would be forced to make some hard choices, possibly relating to Adelita.)
Kent: This is also a relatively good story because I’m not 100% convinced that this is all blackmail fodder. It most likely is, but Potter is a guy who thrives off of info. Then he utilizes that info in unique ways. Blackmail is an obvious one. I feel that he may have more than that this time. Maybe he will use this info on Miguel or Adelita. I’m clueless and excited.
Final Thoughts – Give me your Jax Teller Memorial Award Nominee for this week’s craziest scene of the week. Also, why do you think that this show hasn’t had Letty (Coco’s sister) on this season after being featured last season?
Kristi: I very much enjoyed Marlon killing himself. That was unexpected and comical. Jax would have gotten a kick out of it. Also, it super pleased me to hear his name! They have been more focused in bigger things. This season is much better so far for me. (I just wish his name was Marvin for the Pulp Fiction reference. Yeah, Jackie Boy would have had a good laugh there. I like this season, except the theme song. I know it sounds crazy, but I pause it when the theme comes up, pull the real version up and play it in sync with the opening video. It really gets me in the mood for the show.)
Raylene: I thought I saw her in next week’s preview. These damn car chase scenes just seem ridiculous to me this season. (You did see here. You’re going to enjoy my theory.)
Kent: The invasion of the Merc’s HQ was hilarious. They only had 2 guys outside? They know who they are torturing and who may be on their way and they don’t have traps? Fucking, Kevin McAllister knew enough to have god damn traps but these fucking trained mercs don’t? Are you shitting me?
Now, here is my Letty theory. In action films, the biggest name guys have it written how often they can be beaten or hit or any other such nonsense. These big tough guys are so worried about their image rather than putting on a good fight scene. It’s fucking hilarious. So with that in mind, my theory is that Sarah Bolger is intimidated by Letty’s popularity and how many guys fantasize about her and not Emily. So Sarah pulled some strings so that she could be the “Hot girl” of the show for the first half of the season and garner all the attention. Even Adelita hasn’t been featured as much and is pregnant. It’s a big-time power move. That’s my theory. Also, I can’t wait for Letty to return. Not only do I like her, but it should give us more scenes with Coco and hopefully, Chucky. I accept that.
Finally, here is some info about Muluc, which is the name of this episode. People, you should pay attention to the names of the episodes because they really do reveal a lot. Next week’s episode is Tohill. Oddly enough, when researching it, I am finding lots of Irish hits.
Water is the ninth sign of the Mayan zodiac. It is also known as Muluc or Offering.
It is a sign of peace and freedom, but it also encompasses the challenges that we face to maintain those things. It represent paying off your past due debts which can either be spiritual or physical.
