- Did Cordelia really fear risking Langdon’s life when she refused to let him take the test of the seven wonders or did she fear losing control?
Kristi: I think it’s more a fear of losing control.
Raylene: I think it may have been both but leaning more towards her not wanting to be 2nd
Cece: She feared the loss of control. Also, she probably also feared her imminent decline in health. (Good point about the health aspect.)
Eric: She feared losing control
Melanie: Cordelia is my girl, but she is jealous as hell. She fears losing control and it was written all over her face the whole episode. (That girl is beyond jelly.)
Tom: I honestly think she feared sentencing a young boy to death. She’s still wrestling with losing Misty the way she did. (I’m also sad about losing Misty. You are on an island to yourself though with your response Tom.)
Kayleigh: I think it’s 50/50. I believe she was concerned, but also covered her tracks when confronted on saying no. She definitely doesn’t want to lose her top dog status.
Kelly: 100% she fears losing control. Absolutely! Didn’t you catch that feminism thrown in there? *Que eyeroll.* (Wait? You’re implying that there was some feminism in this episode? I must have totally missed that.)
Kent: 92% fearing to risk losing control, and maybe 8% guilt over Misty. Seriously, why would she give a damn about hurting some male who may take her spot? If somebody is gunning to get a promotion over you, do you really care if they get got doing the test of seven wonders? Hell no!
- We have now tied together the 3 greatest AHS seasons together in this one. Do you want to see them try to tie more seasons into this one or is this perfect?
Kristi: This one is pretty solid for me. I hope they continue with this storyline. Adding more will just confuse it. There is such a thing of too many good things. (Damn right. It’s like you got the graham cracker, the Hershey bar, the marshmallow, and this week they were like, we’ll add a Reese Peanut Butter Cup, and it tasted magnificent. I agree, don’t add any more to this. Also, I hope that they never try to combine Freakshow, Roanoke, and Cult together. Ewww.)
Raylene: I think they should just continue with this it has the been a good story so far this season
Cece: It is so good right now. I love those 3 seasons.
Eric: I think any more would mess the story up. But, maybe just add back Gaga. (Eric is Gaga for Gaga….I can do better than that. I swear. But her new movie does look like it’s pretty solid.)
Melanie: This is awesome. I don’t think any more are needed. (This will be talked about in a future podcast between us and some wine.)
Tom: I usually think the seasons try to pack just a little too much in them and then they can’t fully delve into it all. I don’t need them to rope in any more seasons but… maybe the clown from Freak Show could make an appearance. (There is always room for Twisty the clown!)
Kayleigh: I would appreciate it if they left the lesser seasons out of it. Why mess with a good thing? Although I wouldn’t be upset if I saw Gaga. (Well, that makes two people wanting to bring back Gaga. I still don’t have a better line.)
Kelly: This was great exactly as it was. I enjoyed this episode and its story development so much! Had quite a lot of old AHS charm and man was that comforting. (This was comfort food in the form of a TV show. I got sooooo fat watching it Wednesday, but it was so good. Now I want mac n cheese.)
Kent: I mean, if Langdon makes all of the warlocks do a dance routine to the Name Game, I’m not going to say no. Admit it, it would be funny.
- Is it a bad sign that Queenie and Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) weren’t with Cordelia, Myrtle, and Madison when they came to resurrect the other ladies?
Kristi: Valid point. I didn’t consider that. I do think it’s not going to be so good for the coven. I’m thinking they have converted to follow Langdon. (Ohhhh, interesting theory that I never considered.)
Raylene: Perhaps they stayed behind with more of the coven. (Like the teachers in the X-Men films? Yes, I kept thinking about X-Men during the school scenes.)
Cece: Nah. We saw enough to know everything is ok. (Somebody is awfully optimistic. What’s that like?)
Eric: I don’t think it matters. (Hahaha, I don’t know why that made me laugh out loud, but it did.)
Melanie: It did cross my mind, but I didn’t want to dwell on it. (I have a Master’s Degree in dwelling. It’s what I do.)
Tom: I hadn’t even thought of that as a possibility that something happened to them. I just figured they were back at the coven watching over things.
Kayleigh: I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I like the mystery. I definitely think they’ll pop up next episode. (Another person who has blind optimism. I knew Taissa was supposedly popping up for episode 6, per IMDB, so you’re probably right, in some capacity.)
Kelly: I think they may be elsewhere, watching over whatever is going on in their witchy world. Better to leave some back “home” than risk everyone. They may also be their “surprise attack” when shit goes down. On a separate tangent but still on topic with the gals: Madison and Queenie went to Cordelia when she fainted so I think that they still felt a huge obedience to her as their Supreme. And from the sounds of it, Cordelia tried to save them (Or at least Queenie). I’m waiting to see Misty because if Michael saved Madison and Queenie from their Hells, there’s got to be a way they work Misty back in. (Granted, she is a kind, loving soul versus evil so maybe not?) (You just gave me a lot to ponder. I like this surprise attack thought. Misty is a huge wildcard, and I really hope we get to see her back. Lily Rabe has always been a personal favorite of mine. Would she accept Langdon’s help, would she know that he was evil? Like Queenie, she just wanted to stop playing cards, I get it.)
Kent: I had 2 thoughts. Either they were protecting the student witches, or they got got at some point. I kept thinking about X-Men, I think it was the 2nd or 3rd movie. That answer bores me. I like the idea of Langdon having broken them and made them humble.
- WIll Cheyenne Jackson’s character be the last warlock standing against Langdon?
Kristi: Its possible but I think no.
Raylene: I think yes because they definitely created some hostility he felt towards Langdon. (Yeah, they really made a point of it. It’s like he’s going to be the first or last to get it. I see him getting Mace Windu’d.)
Cece: I don’t know but that could be super interesting.
Eric: No (Eric, I really wish we did a podcast where you just answered my 6 questions weekly. It would take like 2 minutes, and it would be fantastic.)
Melanie: I hope not, but I think so. (I am curious why you hope not.)
Tom: I was actually guessing that we will find out Langdon had killed him at some point before the fallout. It was pretty clear that he was the only warlock that didn’t trust Langdon’s power. (Shouldn’t BD Wong have known better after all of these years solving crimes on Law & Order SVU?)
Kayleigh: I don’t think he’ll be the only one standing against him. The moment they realize the situation has gotten out of control I think they’ll try to stop him, but with no luck of course. (Interesting that you feel there may be a united front against him. That would be a special encounter….perhaps.)
Kelly: He’s a big actor for the series so his character has the potential, but at this point, I’m not sure. We might find more warlocks surface if there’s a big battle. (I hope we find out that The Axe Man, Arden, Twisty, Liz Taylor, and Zachary Quinto, as himself, are all warlocks.)
Kent: He’s Mace Windu in Episode III. These are facts. I will not be wrong. I really liked Cheyenne’s role in this episode. I liked it a lot. I cannot be the only person seeing Star Wars parallels, can I? I probably am.
- Will there be any warlocks left to help the witches take on Langdon?
Kristi: Absolutely. They sent him to retrieve the ones that are worthy. They are awaiting the remaining living members of the coven. Perhaps to repopulate with their kind. (Repopulation, huh, that is a damn fine theory.)
Raylene: That would be nice to have some left. I hope Langdon didn’t kill them all. (Langdon is Annakin. Can’t you see that? Star Wars references!!)
Cece: Nah. I think he’s gonna do it on his own.
Eric: No
Melanie: No warlocks, only witches. (Feminism!!! They need She-Ra too.)
Tom: I think we may see some warlock characters stand against Langdon but not in any significant role. They already set the standard that warlocks have never been able to even approach the power of the witches. (Feminism!!!!) (Bitches)
Kayleigh: I think they will have witches come out of the woodwork. Hopefully some warlocks. I wonder if the warlock powers will get stronger from being around the witches. (Sooooo, Captain Planet? I swear I have made this joke already. Misty would totally have the Heart ring.)
Kelly: I think there could be. Sorry for a short answer, but that’s kind of all you’re asking for here. (You’re right. Sometimes I like to give all y’all a break on a question.)
Kent: Could Brock be a warlock? I am guessing not. I would like to see some guy power because that girl power nonsense nauseated me just a little bit. I mean, it’s 2018..feminism!! Yay!!! I’m gonna go listen to some Spice Girls now.
Final Thoughts – Was this your favorite episode of the season?
Kristi: I actually very much enjoyed this episode. It was nice to see where Langdon came from and how powerful he is. The flashbacks were awesome for me! I get very confused when too much is going on with characters and such. This episode cleared a lot up for me. (Yes, this was the tie up many loose ends episode before shit gets real.)
Raylene: Yes this has been the best so far but I am hoping Lange will dominate. (Like a dominatrix?)
Cece: Not yet, no. But I did love it. The implementations of Hotel & Coven have been wonderful! (So what has been your favorite?)
Eric: The first one was the best. (I had to really think on this. I felt that there would be a lot of people enjoying the callbacks and sort of instant gratification, but that first episode was really f’n solid.)
Melanie: This last one was my favorite. I enjoyed seeing where Langdon came from. I adored him bringing back Queenie and Madison. (Are you a fan of Madison?)
Tom: Maybe tied for the best with the previous episode. I did like seeing Coco stabbed in the forehead. (Too soon! Coco is going to be the best character of this season. Russ guarantees it.)
Kayleigh: Yes so far. I enjoyed the flashback to see where Langdon really came from. Plus Kathy Bates character. I love her past self. (Yeah. You would have thought that the idiot who wrote these questions would have asked about Mead’s past flashbacks, or the that March returned. Nope, not a single question.)
Kelly: By far, yes. My favorite episode since Roanoke (oh that was terrible). ???? Gosh, this show has gone downhill. I am hoping this is a good turning point and they channel their old styles because so far I’m not hating this season at all! It shows potential. (See, this is what it’s like to be a modern day wrestling fan. You get excited when the product simply doesn’t suck, and you feel amazing when anything is above average. It’s tough for me to judge how good this season is because it’s still cleansing my palate of the awful taste of Roancult.)
Kent: I will say yes. I really was torn between this one and the first episode. I loved the opening to that with the bomb and it was very crazy and wild feeling. Still, this one had so much nostalgia. If you weren’t a fan of previous seasons, or you never got around to watching them or possibly finishing them (Tom), then perhaps this episode did hit you right in the sack. This had so much, plus I am a sucker for Madison, Zoe, Queenie, and March. Nostalgia for the win!
