Fear The Walking Dead 9 Deuce: S:4 Ep:3 “Good Out Here”

This week, it’s just Bob and I living the blog life.  Chris was celebrating his birthday, so happy birthday to Chris.  We lost Nick this week, which really surprised me.  I thought he was lasting for a few more seasons, if not the entirety of the show.  He was perhaps the most captivating character outside of Strand on the show.  He wasn’t always my favorite, but Frank did a great job in his portrayal and I know we will see more of him in flashbacks since this season is a giant flashback.  Now the question is why was Nick so angry at Ennis.  I’m sure we will fine out.   All of this and more in this week’s blog.  My name is Kent, and for Fear The Walking Dead, I only ask 5 questions and some final thoughts to make this blog a little more compact your reading pleasure.  Any comments in BOLD are written by me.  I hope you enjoy and if you or someone you know may want to do this blog, contact me, leave a comment, whatever.  The contact info is at the bottom of this blog.

  1.  Nick was really upset at Ennis.  Why was he so angry? Speculate as wildly as you like.

Bob:  I had thought Charlie had somehow died. I don’t think Madison has died.

Kent:  I keep think Madison is dead or hurt or captured.  It is Madison related. I am stubborn.

  1.  Is Charlie the biggest villain in Fear The Walking Dead’s history now?  If you say no, then I need to know who you would rank higher.

Bob:  Nah. Troy all the way.  (I kinda liked the Troy and Nick stuff.  I’m sure you are sitting there thinking “of course you did”.  I thought it was well written stuff.  I started liking Troy in an odd way.  I hated how he was first introduced and I know that he was not a good guy, but he was a really well done complicated villain at the very least.)

Kent:  Ophelia is!  I really disliked how she handled business last season.  Also, the main people in season 2 that captured the boat, was not a fan because I HATED that boat stuff.

  1.  Is Morgan going to become the moral compass on the show now?

Bob:  Yes. Until he isn’t.  Then he “doesn’t” and “can’t”.  (This was such a brilliant answer that I didn’t even want to provide an answer.)

Kent:  I think Luciana is destined for that role.

  1.  What death surprised you more: Travis or Nick?

Bob:  Nick because of how integrated he was and how he had adapted to this lifestyle. Travis… it was a matter of time.  (Yeah, the key word you used was integrated.  He was able to seemingly slip through anything in this world.  I think if Frank didn’t ask out of his contract, he would have made it to the end.)

Kent:  I have been thinking a lot about this.  Travis hit me like a gut punch. I had no idea that it was coming.  Not a clue. I started liking Travis too much and that was the problem.  I think the answer is Nick because I honestly thought that he was making it to the end.  I saw him as the Daryl Dixon of this show. Travis always seemed expendable, the Lori, just not irritating.

  1.  By the end of the season, will another main member of the group die?

Bob:  No.  (This show is so much harder to predict that TWD.  Season 1 they killed 2 main characters in Chris’ mom and Ophelia’s mom.  Season 2 was just Chris I think.  Season 3 was Travis and Ophelia. Season 4 we’ve had Nick.  The pattern is clear.  Odd numbered seasons one of Chris’ parents die and one of Daniel’s family members die.  In even numbered seasons, a son dies.  So if Madison was Chris’ legal step mom, she is screwed in season 5 as is Daniel, and then a male character is dead in season 6, probably Strand because he would be the last remaining original cast member, if my memory and math is correct.)

Kent:  If we say that the main group consists of Madison, Alicia, Strand, Luciana, and Daniel, I say yes.  If we expand that to include others, my answer is still yes. I think Daniel or Madison are dead this season.

Final Thoughts Out of the main group of “good guys” who seems most likely to betray the group in some capacity?

Bob:  Alicia.  (I am so good with this.  I am oddly on board with her character.  I didn’t like her for the longest time.  It was sometime in season 3 that I was like, she’s the only one with her head out of her ass at the moment, so I started giving her a chance.)

Kent:  Althea because she got that badass truck some way, so why not her?  Strand was my back up response, but I feel they have been down that road too many times.
