This week, Angel and EZ meet a lame MC, Dita meets Felipe, Mini runs away, and Medina is killed. My name is Kent and I write the questions every week and I have a great group of people who answer them. If you are familiar with some of the other TV Show blogs that we do on the site, then you will recognize most of the names. If you would like to participate in the blog and answer my inane questions, please contact me at kent@9deuce.com. Please enjoy!
1. Is Mini going to get somebody killed eventually?
Raylene: Oh, for sure she will. Her neediness and lack of following directions will do someone in.
Kent: I have a feeling that this is inevitable. She’s the Mayans version of Carl. Dale got it in season 2 of TWD. Somebody big dies due to Mini this season, that’s my bold prediction.
2. Dita disappeared to visit Felipe/Igancio. Nestor was left in charge of caring for Dita. Is Nestor going to face consequences or redeem himself?
Raylene: It should’ve happened by now, the consequences. Perhaps he’ll sacrifice himself to protect the family. (He seems like a loyal soldier that will do something heroic, in his eyes, even if people are down on him.)
Kent: I feel that they showed us an example with Devante last season. So now we should assume the worst. So I am thinking that Nestor redeems himself because it goes against the natural assumptions, even when it makes no sense.
3. Dita and Ignacio have a past. What exactly do you think that their relationship was?
Raylene: Felipe is Miguel’s dad. (Well, that got real, real fast.)
Kent: I don’t think that it was ever romantic. I think that Ignacio was simply some muscle and possibly some brain. I’d say that he was more Nestor than Devante. (Well, after seeing episode 3, I guess I couldn’t have been more incorrect.)
4. Did you enjoy the new poser MC that ended up messing with EZ and Angel? How ridiculous was all of this?
Raylene: Seriously the lamest gang ever. (Yet, I have a feeling that this isn’t the last that we have heard from them. That’s the best and worst part.)
Kent: This whole thing was so silly, but provided us some of the best lines. The homocycle line was just too funny. The funniest line to me, for some reason, was an exchange of: “You’re pretty fucking tough with a gun.” says one of the bikers. Angel replies: “Yeah, that’s why I carry one.” It was so matter of fact, but the guy had no way to respond intelligently.
5. Medina got shot and killed. Is this going to be a big story or just fluff to carry a few scenes this season?
Raylene: I think it’s just filler in the show. (Deaths hold such little value in this show that it really is tough to know what to take remotely seriously on this show.)
Kent: I think this will be a big story. It feels like fluff. I always respond with the opposite of what my initial reaction is when it comes to this show.
Final Thoughts – What is your Jackie Boy Award nominee for the most ridiculous scene of this episode?
Raylene: The cop chase for sure and how quickly it was abandoned.
Kent: I felt that this show deserved some fun segment and every week, they don’t fail. In honor of Jax Teller, who was often involved in the most ridiculous scenes in Sons of Anarchy, I felt the award should share his namesake. This week, everything with EZ and Angel would apply. Angel is just saying “Fuck” repeatedly on a mini-golf course. And I wanted to give props for Nestor’s oblivious ways. Still, the cop chase and how they got away was stunningly absurd, so that is my nominee.
