This episode showed that Gabe can still man up and that Michonne is really gullible. My name is Kent, and I ask 5 weekly questions and then people answer them. Any comments in BOLD are written by me. I hope you enjoy and if you or someone you know may want to do this blog, contact me, leave a comment, etc.
1. I have to ask the obvious question here. Why is Carol acting so incompetent at the moment?
Bob: So she can do a 180. I hope. (We’ve never seen that before….)
Raylene: Bad writers for her storyline. Am I to possibly understand we are supposed to believe that her desire for revenge has done away with her common sense? (Yes? Everything that we knew about Carol went away quintessentially.)
Kent: Sometimes we simply need a character change for the sake of TV purposes. It’s very soap opera-ish. The thing is that perhaps Carol mentally has hit a wall. You know how some people feel like they have simply been screwed over so much in life that they potentially break away from their core values or they act illogically? That sums this up as far as I’m concerned. I don’t like it, just my best guess.
2. Do you support Gabriel’s actions when he killed Dante and became TWD’s version of Captain Stabbin?
Bob: He was “Manning up”. Not a fair fight tho. He should fight clubbed himself with Dante in the cage. (Which Manning: Peyton or Eli? I feel that Michael Buffer would survive the ZA and announce fights.)
Raylene: Absolutely I loved seeing Gabe be a hoss (He really needed this “win”.)
Kent: I have long supported Gabe once he stopped being a coward. There’s a lot to like and he definitely needed to not only have this kill but to show people that he is not to be trifled with. All of these things are positive, in my opinion.
3. Given what we have seen, did Dante succeed in his mission?
Bob: Definitely! All kinds of chaos and wagging the dog. (Wait wait wait. Dogs wag their tails. Who is viciously wagging a dog? This is a terrifying thought and premise.)
Raylene: Sure I mean he did give months of info to Alpha and nobody doubts every new person they encounter, but they really should. (They really need to find a smarter initiation system for bringing in new people. The Rick questions are no longer enough because you keep losing medical personnel.)
Kent: I just want to say that I feel that it was a missed opportunity to show that Dante was the person who freed Negan.
4. What are your thoughts on Virgil? Should Michonne have risked going with a complete stranger (if you were in that situation would you have done it)? Who is going to watch over Judith?
Bob: Clearly Little AK can watch over herself. She has been de-emphasized in the show, I feel like. Been waiting for Michonne to go away for some time now. (Judith seems very capable but still needs more than just herself, in my opinion. Obviously, she will have the community, but still, an adult guardian is needed in certain circumstances, for making grilled cheese sandwiches, for instance.)
Raylene: I think she shouldn’t have gone alone. Well, perhaps Luke until Daryl takes over. (Luke is obsessing over the one lady, I am thinking. But he and Judith could make for fun scenes.)
Kent: I like Virgil. I trust him, but obviously not his community. Michonne should risk everything as often as possible so she is not on my TV screen. My best suggestion for Judith’s caretaker is actually more obvious than you may think. Rosita and Gabe make the most sense since Gabe has watched over Judith plenty and Rosita has to watch over Coco anyway. Judith would be good with Coco I’m sure.
5. Rosita is having some issues, obviously. Has this experience with Dante and Siddiq strengthened or weakened Rosita and Gabriel’s relationship?
Bob: Weakened because Gabriel is weak, period!
Raylene: I think they will be split up by the end of the season.
Kent: Huh, I thought everyone would say strengthened. I definitely felt this would keep them together and stronger as a unit. They both need more of an edge as more and more people leave the show, and along with Aaron, both of these 2 should get more screen time as a power couple.
Final Thoughts – What one character or story aspect do you want to see in the second half of season 10? Also, I’m up for an ask me anything TWD related, if you so choose to partake.
Bob: I cheated and saw Raylene’s response and I couldn’t agree more.
Raylene: Beta Beta Beta and Negan. Will they fix the stupid water system now? Where the hell is Heath? Are we going to see the village Maggie was supposedly setting up? (The water system may never be talked about again until they need to rehash the story for the 4th time. Heath is gonna be seen either with Rick’s story, most likely, or possibly in this new series coming up as it appears to be the same group that does business with Jadis. Maggie wasn’t setting up a new community. She is simply learning from Georgie (I think that was her name). She will then return with all-new exciting skills and may have 2 episodes talk about it and then it will quickly be forgotten. That ABC show that she did was a really great decision, eh?)
Kent: Aaron, Gamma, Lydia all have my attention. Eugene, Rosita, and Gabe all have my attention. The Whisperers always have my attention. Daryl, Carol, and Michonne do not have my attention. Most of all, will things play out in the comic in regard to Negan and Alpha? I suspect some form of twist because they seem to carve their own path. Simultaneously, doesn’t Negan have to return with something to prove to the community that he’s on their side? Or do they go really crazy and have Beta change sides and Negan and Alpha create THE power couple? I feel like anything is on the table. I like not knowing. Change is good and fine because they ruined what could have been.
